What to expect when you join My Tribe Tutoring

Your child will be tutored by a fully - qualified, DBS - checked teacher. I have over 20 years classroom experience, working across all year groups in Key Stage 2. As a Year 6 teacher for 8 years, the children achieved consistently high SATs results, well above National and Local averages. This level of experience has given me in depth knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and specific SATs requirements.

I believe that building positive relationships with parents and children is key to supporting learning and progress. I am approachable and supportive, always working hard to find ways to motivate children and teaching them the power of ‘yet’. After so many years teaching, I know the importance of understanding that each child is on their own, personal learning journey. When working with a child, I am able to pick up on subtle cues, identify any emotional and academic barriers to their progress and find strategies to address their individual needs, whilst also promoting high expectations and resilience.

My approach is one where children feel that their hard work and participation is valued so that they always arrive excited for each session, feel proud of their successes when they leave, and are eager to return.
